A Prayer for Peace and Gratitude

gratitude

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do,whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:15-17)

Today, I recall that I am a Christian.  I am called to peace.  I am called to singing to God with gratitude in my heart.  I am called to doing everything in the name of Jesus, giving thanks to God.

Lord, I pray for peace for a world that is often broken.  I pray for love for our fellow man.  I pray that we can extinguish hate, fear, and xenophobia.

Lord, I pray that we help those in our community in need, just as you did.  I pray that we follow in your example in BOTH word and deed.

Thank you, Lord, for all that you’ve done for me.
