Is it okay to kiss on a first date

How far is too far?  What is appropriate?

  1. I feel like if you’ve known the person for a really long time and he’s always been a friend but then you went on a romantic date with him and you want to end the night with a gentle, friendly kiss, I think that’s appropriate and wholesome. The Bible says, “Greet one another with a holy kiss.”

  2. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer to this! But it does go back to the question of boundaries and what you personally are comfortable with.

From my own experience, I definitely have kissed guys on a first date. I don’t think it was wrong. But if I think of the guys who I kissed hot and heavy on a first date, it definitely was a result of me wanting them to like me and in retrospect, seeing how the relationships ended, a case of them using physical touch to perhaps override not really being that into me. It ended up probably extending a relationship that wasn’t going to work out anyway. With my husband, I actually got annoyed with him because the most he would do is kiss me on the cheek for the first month(!). But he turned out to be the right guy for me! Just my experience, though!

  3. Hmm, I think it depends on what *kind* of kiss. A short and sweet peck or a kiss on the hand or cheek, I’d be OK with. But a passionate tongue twister…nah! LOL
