  1. The older I get the more realistic I get. I have dwindled my list down more and more and more until now it’s just bare bones basics. I can’t be too picky at my age. (I’m 31 and I’m not getting any younger here.) My list used to be 150 items long. Now it is just 16 items long and I absolutey CAN NOT take anything else off the list because those are the non-negotiables I am not willing to do without. Check out my blog for my list! It’s under the title heading : Dating After Divorce. https://foundationsofsapphires.wordpress.com/2016/05/03/dating-after-divorce/

    • Kudos to you for dating again after divorce! My husband was previously married for ten years and I can assure you that you can find a loving, meaningful relationship even with divorce in your history! Best wishes in your search!!

  2. So the biggest thing for me was definitely that was I attracted to alpha males. I used to look for the guy who would challenge me and argue with me. Turns out that’s not such a good basis for a relationship. My husband is more Type B and I find that that is a much better match for my personality!

    • Wow Joanna, thanks for sharing ! your comment intrigue me – because I am attracted to alpha males (to a certain extent) provided that they challenge me to grow more in my love, passion and commitment to Christ. But one thing I am determined to delete from my list – if the guy’s commitment to Christ is not a solid one, I will not entertain the thought of pursuing anything further. I allowed someone that privilege and it turned out to be a bad decision. Nevertheless it was a lesson learnt.

  3. I can say that I never really had a long list to begin with. I honestly probably never even had a list at all until the last few years. And now that list is only 2 items long:
    1) Must love Jesus. Like truly have a relationship that is evident in interactions, how he lives his life, and how he treats others.
    2) Must be taller than me.

I think if those two things are there, everything else that we think we need to add will fall into place. I say that because God knows the desires of our hearts. So if we’re both listening to the holy spirit, then the rest of our list won’t matter 🙂
